Case 1: A Truly Special Birthday Surprise

At Christmas, we were contacted by a man looking to create a very special birthday surprise for his wife. She was turning 30, and he wanted to arrange an unforgettable day for her.

They had rented a summer house in Vejlby Klit with their closest family, where the birthday celebration would take place. Apart from the husband arranging the surprise, no one else knew the day’s schedule. It was therefore very important for him that we took care of all the practical arrangements.

We started by picking them up at the summer house and driving them in a tractor bus to Thyborøn, where they boarded one of our safari boats for the first adventure of the day.

We sailed through the maze of sandbanks, where the family’s first nature experience awaited. Seals were lounging on the banks, enjoying the sun, as the boat gently passed close by.

The boat trip continued to Thy National Park, where everyone, wearing waders, could pick the freshest oysters from the fjord floor. Afterwards, they went ashore on the Thy side of the Thyborøn Canal, where a grand seafood menu had been prepared. On the grill, oysters and fresh fish from the day’s fish auction were cooked and enjoyed with views of the fjord and the surrounding wilderness.

After lunch, the family was taken back to Thyborøn, where they visited JyllandsAkvariet, feeding fish and sharks and enjoying time in our creative area.

But the day was far from over. They still had a city and harbor tour by tractor bus, followed by a visit to Iskunsten, Europe’s only year-round ice sculpture exhibition. At Iskunsten, we had also hidden the birthday gift inside a block of ice.

Finally, the family was taken to the train station in Thyborøn and traveled back to the summer house in Vejlby Klit on the legendary VLTJ train. During the short walk from the train to the house, they were suddenly surprised by a small fireworks show—the final surprise of the day. Back at the summer house, a chef awaited them with a three-course dinner to end the perfect day.
