Case 4: A full days intensive adventures
When international trips were canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions, there were fortunately plenty of fantastic experiences to enjoy on the West Coast.
In the autumn, we hosted 140 students along with their teachers from a boarding school. The whole day was filled with activities. Due to the number of students, they were divided into groups to ensure everyone could try everything.
While some went on a seal safari by boat, others went on an oyster safari wearing waders, and others took guided tours of JyllandsAkvariet, Iskunsten, or Thyborøn Harbor. Throughout the day, the students rotated between activities so that everyone experienced everything.
There were also special experiences on the program that we don’t offer daily. For example, the students visited the engine room, where they learned about the old ship engines and even helped start them up.
Both lunch and dinner were served at the aquarium, with extra tables set up to accommodate all of them. After closing time, they had the place to themselves, exploring the fish and sharks “after dark.”
In the evening, they took turns on a night amber safari, using special UV lights to search for amber along the North Sea. An experienced amber hunter accompanied them, providing tips and tricks for finding and identifying amber.
After 12 hours of experiences, fun, and new impressions, our guides said goodbye to the tired students and teachers, who were then transported home by bus.
